Seals. Lots of seals.

Yesterday we were in Kaikoura. We went kajaking with a group. I was in a kajak with my father. First there was a lot of instruction, for safety, cool paddle waving and hou to put that stupid skirt on! Long story short, everyone needed to wear a skirt for safety, so you could lock yourself to the kajak. We saw lots of seals, and a bird who looked like a penguin. It is probably the most photographed bird in New Zealand. It was really a lot of fun.

Today, when we drove to a camping close to Christchurch, we stopped near the sea. There were almost more seals! They were playing, swimming, scratching there ears and roaring to us. We found also a lot of paua shells, and a skull, probably of a seal. Where life is is dead, but still it was bad for that seal who died.

Gelmer Geplaatst op 02 december 2018 om 20:30 uur Hi Jip! En Jan en Berber natuurlijk... Wat een heerlijke verhalen schrijf je toch (bijna) dagelijks. Ongelofelijk dat jullie al over de helft zijn. En vandaag hebben jullie Opa Go ook opgehaald zag ik op de app. Gisteren hebben we Sinterklaas gevierd, voor het eerst zonder jullie! Zat ik daar met alleen maar schoonfamilie; en Simon natuurlijk :-). Blijf schrijven maar blijf vooral enorm genieten. Wat jullie nu allemaal meemaken is zo bijzonder!
